Oakley Court, Windsor
AFTERNOON TEA AT THE OAKLEY COURT
Windsor Rd, Water Oakley, Windsor
The hotel itself is in a medieval gothic style with a stunning drive up to the entrance. We were greeted by a very friendly member of staff who took us to the beautiful room where the afternoon tea would be taking place. We were then welcomed by another member of staff who took me to my table. There were other afternoon tea bookings that were taking place and the staff seemed busy but were still very attentive. The atmosphere was calm and it felt like we were sat in an orangery with the beautiful plants and artwork on the wall.
Service
For a busy Saturday afternoon the service could not be faulted as the staff were very hospitable and polite.
Food & Drink
We were then walked through the sweet treats by the Patisserie chef Francesco which included a Coffee & Dulcey Craquelin, White Chocolate & Pistachio Tart, Mango & Passionfruit Bavarois and a Chocolate and Red Winter fruit cake. This was then followed by both sultana and plain scones accompanied with a strawberry and raspberry jam with fresh clotted cream. All of the food was appetising and fresh and we were always topped up with fresh pot of tea to wash all of the delicious food down. We also ordered a glass of Prosecco with our afternoon tea which made the whole experience more special and enjoyable.
Price
The price for the afternoon tea was £34.50 per person plus an additional £9.50 for the glass of Prosecco and a £10 service charge which seemed reasonable as the service was great. The total bill for two people amounted to just under £100. Compared to other hotels in and around the area charging a lot more for afternoon tea, this is a fair price given for the food and experience in our opinion.
Overall experience
Our overall experience of Oakley Court was a marvellous one from the prompt service to the ambience and decor of the hotel. Undoubtedly Zey & Jas will be back again soon for afternoon tea and this time with a few more glasses of Prosecco!!!Star Rating
